points off turnover Can't Post

I am a technical handicapper as compared to a fundamental handicapper or
trend handicapper , and one of the stat calculations I track is how a team
responds to pressure . Is there a site that tracks points off turnovers or
turnovers occured in opponents yardline ( like a team drives 40 yards and
then commits a turnover or they give up the ball on their side of the
field ) .

I might have missed it , but I didnt see it on nfl.com or covers.com
And just when I was going to start tracking incompletions in the second half
, nfl.com stops the formal breakdown by halves .
Btw I will be restarting my NFL performance next season as I have to rebuild
my notes/formulas , so if I have a stat you wanted tracked and can provide
the info source , let me know , and maybe I can generate some findings . No
promises on that .

Not exactly what you want but cbs sportsline has
interception returns
aka "Int.-Returns"

How dare you read and reply to my message ?!? Dont you know this group is
for spam and scamdicappers .

Thanks for the info . I dont think it was what I was looking for exactly ,
but it might lead to other things .
I could go thru the play by play list , and make my process even more
tedious . I had forgotten about cbssportsline.

I am also hopeful this will get this group back to discussing useful
techniques like result xyz indicates a paper tiger , and that team should be
avoided in future selections .

Hey, I'd be up for it!
I am looking at some stats of my own at the moment which is why
the response came so quickly.
I like cbssportsline the best. Great place to go for stats.
Of course, now that I said that it'll jinx the site or something. ;)

Oh, and cbssportsline also has an "Other" category under touchdowns.
This is something I just noticed...
If you look at the play by play you can see that Jacksonville
had 1 touchdown by intercepting Pittsburgh
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/gamecenter/playbyplay/NFL_20080105_JAC@PIT
This is the "1" in the Other category.
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/gamecenter/teamstats/NFL_20080105_JAC@PIT
Now, be careful because I have also seen this category be used for punts
returned for a touchdown.
So, while there is no automatic way to find this out(There should be!)
the information is there in some way.
Rather than a catchall "Other" category they should just add another
line or two for "punt returns" and "interception returns".

Re: points off turnover [In reply to] Can't Post

Well we could start building a list of stat websites .

nfl.com
covers.com
statfox.com
jimfeist.com
cbssportsline.com
foxsports probably has some stat tracking numbers

I havent started college football betting on a regular basis , but did
bookmark some sites related to that .

I am also hoping to get into nba and mlb on a regular basis . I have done
some work in that area before , but not on a regular basis . I even have an
idea on a varation of whip for mlb that I plan on tracking . I call it ship
( slugging percentage added to whip ) . I dont know if it will work , but
its worth considering .

Re: points off turnover [In reply to] Can't Post

Some sources include it in boxscores but I do not know of one that includes
it as a season stat off the top of my head.

Actually I am looking for points off turnover on a game by game basis . So
having it in a boxscore is great . Gary can you list those sites that list
points off turnover in their boxscores ?

Also I would like to track knockdowns and hurries as an add onto sacks . I
have seen the tv broadcasts track hurries and knockdowns during the
broadcast .
Right now I use nfl.com for my basic numbers , but I am willing to branch
out to other websites .

Well I looked at NFL/CBS/ESPN and did not see them in their boxes, know I
have seen it somewhere but now not sure where.

It is pretty easy to do looking at play by play, maybe that's your best
bet, given that TO in plus, mid, minus territory are really different in
effect so you could do something more robust.

I'll keep a look out for the boxes anyway.
